Netball Workshop

Aso Lulu 13 o Aukuso

Every Wednesday for the rest of this term, Potu 25 are lucky enough to be participating in a Netball Workshop run my Netball Manurewa! Their first session was awesome! They learnt the acronym COBS which taught them the different passes in Netball. C- Chest, O – Overhead, B – Bounce and S – Shoulder! It was a great start and I am looking forward to seeing the progress they all make over the next 5 weeks!

Fau Gagana

Aso Tofi 14 o Aukuso

Potu 25 are getting a lot more confident in their Fau Gagana/La’asaga! It is great to see them becoming more fluent in writing in both languages and developing the skills to switch between the two as it is not easy!

Every morning at 10am, we do our Samoan spelling! It is awesome to hear the students sounding out the words and ensuring they are using macrons and apostrophes where they think they are needed!

Malo lava Potu 25! Keep up the amazing work!

Va’a Assembly

Aso Tofi 31 o Iulai On Thursday, Tapasā had our first Va’a Assembly for the term!

There was a lot of celebration of learning which was amazing! Well done to Roman, Danie, Dyanna & JJ for receiving certificated from our class!

We will have Va’a assembly every odd week (every even week is Whole School Assembly)

Our goals for this term

Students in Room 25 shared their learning goals with their whanau during our Student Learning Conferences last week on the 5th of March. The parents were very happy to see that their children thought about it and set achievable goals that they will work towards during this term.

The parents were also amazed at how their children could compose their slides so beautifully. A few of the learners goals are being shared on the class blog with their permission.

Enjoying learning how to swim

The students in room 25 are learning how to swim and get better at swimming. We enjoy swimming in our school pool and also at the Manurewa pools every Friday afternoon.

We are definitely getting better with floating, free style swimming, doing back strokes and underwater breathing.

The swimming instructors are patient and take good care of us while we are swimming. They coach us well.

Room 25 had a disastrous start to their academic year

Yes, Room 25 had a disastrous start to their academic year. Their teacher Miss Faaofo suddenly fell ill on day 1 of the start of Term 1 and has not returned to school since then. We hear that she is getting better slowly but surely. We miss her! Mrs Raj is looking after the learners and is teaching in Room 25 for the moment.

Here are a few videos the learners in Room 25 made for Miss Faaofo.

Get well soon Miss Faaofo! Love and prayers from us all……….
